Introduction to Computers

The course is designed to teach all seventh grade students basic skills and terminology associated with the operation of the Macintosh™ computer and peripherals in the Palma Computer Learning Center. Special emphasis will be placed on the learning of keyboarding, word processing, PowerPoint, publishing a web page, Internet navigation, and video editinh skills in order to facilitate student's utilization of the computer lab during their years at Palma.

Grading Policy:

  1. Quarter Grade = 50% Classwork/Projects + 40% Exams + 10% Participation
  2. Semester Grade = 50% Qtr1 + 50% Qtr2
  3. Letter Grades will be assigned in accordance with school policy:
    A = 100 - 90, B = 89 - 80, C = 79 - 70, D = 69 - 60 and F = 59 - 0


Classwork/Projects:
Classwork will encompass day to day assignments including, but not limited to, chapter projects and the understanding of the material.

Exams:
Exams will be given at the end of each unit to gauge the students understanding of the material.


Participation:
Participation is made up of day to day points that the students receive for working on their classwork. If at anytime the student is not actively working on their projects they will be marked down a point for the day.
